Zapatoca is a municipality in Santander, located 2.5 hours from Bucaramanga, through which the Suarez River canyon runs. Zapatoca enjoys a "silk climate," meaning very cool, and a colonial cultural legacy embodied in its streets, houses, and the story of Don Quixote de la Mancha. Here you'll find several places to explore, including the Guane Lookout , from which you can appreciate the majesty of the canyon.

We'll begin this adventure with a tour of Zapatoca's historic district, where we'll visit the main park, centuries-old churches, colonial streets with striking facades, and other attractions.
Later we will visit the Campo Santo and the tomb of the German Geo Von Lenguerke , who stood out in the area for the construction of the first cobblestone roads through which various products from the region arrived.
From there we will head to the Guane Lookout, from where we will appreciate the majesty of the Canyon formed by the Chicamocha and Suarez rivers and have panoramic views of eight municipalities in Santander.
Finally, we'll visit the El Quijote House-Museum, a museum inspired by the work of Don Quixote de la Mancha and his squire, where there are small sculptures that beautifully narrate real-life situations.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- Optional: Admission to Nitro Cave . This cave is safe to walk through; the tour can last up to 3 hours. Additional cost per person: $30,000
- Children ages 2–3 pay $5,000. They do not occupy a seat on the vehicle; they ride on the lap of an accompanying adult. This fare covers medical assistance.
- Visit to Mirador Guane : It cannot be visited during the rainy season because the terrain is uncovered.
